N is for Night

on December 7, 2012

This week we learned all about night animals. We focused on a few different nocturnal animals each day and had a lot of fun with these free online activities:

Nocturnal Animals Find & Seek Game

Night Animals Guessing Game (with sounds)

Nocturnal Animals Song (very cute!)

The kids also really enjoyed playing this Don’t Wake the Owl game.

We also had a lot of fun with noodles this week! I was so delighted to find transportation and space themed noodles at a shop here that I decided to go all out and actually dye them (which is soooo easy by the way) . . .

Then we used the noodles for all kinds of activities throughout the week – noodle sorting, noodle lacing, noodle necklaces, counting, glueing noodles on the letter N, etc.

Some other crafts we did include napkin art, a night scene, and name necklaces 🙂

And what would N week be without a little noise??? So as I write this, the kids are playing ‘drums’ on some pots & pans . . .

making a lot of noise!

making a lot of noise!

. . . they are pretending to play drums like the Ngizim people of Nigeria whom we learned about this week. Soooo if my thoughts aren’t completely coherent or you notice a few grammar mistakes, keep in mind the African festival of drums clanging in the background as I write this 😉
